Dream Trap is a new pack from Loopmasters that takes the usual trap template and turns it on its head by adding blissed-out synths, keys and guitars to give a serene vibe. There are over 1GB-worth of 24-bit audio with 248 loops covering programmed beats, found-sound percussion loops, deep basses, sequenced synth patterns, shimmering pads, keys with a hint of the 80s and guitars drenched in nostalgic reverb.

Everything has a hint of melancholy to give it a beautiful edge, but not so much that it becomes moody. Elsewhere, there are 191 one-shots with 97 sampler patches covering drums, bass, FX, atmos, guitars, keys and chords.

From the mood to the intricate, creative processing, everything here is superb, with the possible exception of the drums, which are good, but a little thin-sounding in places. Overall, it’s an excellent pack for anyone writing deep electronic music with plenty of variety – meaning there’s lots of useful content to explore.
