This new Loopmasters pack combines the bass and rhythms of dub and dubstep with the more aggressive and distorted sounds of the industrial genre. Bass influences come courtesy of artists such as Scorn and JK Fresh, with the more experimental elements inspired by Portishead and Lee Perry. It’s modest in size, with 100 loops, 106 one shots and 67 sampler patches that cover deep and rich sounding basses, saturated drums with cavernous reverb, organ, synth and guitar stabs, and evocative loops.
It’s a moody and at times cinematic collection that might prove useful for film cues. Everything here is heavily processed to give it a raw, dark and characterful sound. The distortion is implemented in a heavy-handed manner in places.
