MT VERDICT

It’s not a massive pack but Soulwave’s crisp production and usable sounds make it a winner.

This pack combines soulful trap with the woozy nostalgic sounds of synthwave. Within it you’ll find folders of well-programmed bass loops with a warm analogue sound, and tight drums with plenty of kick edits and hat rolls, plus variations with and without kicks and snares.

You’ll also find smooth loops with lots of gliding leads and swelling pads. The production is clean and crisp, though some loops sport some increased noise and crackle for added atmosphere, which is suitable on occasion but sometimes feels unnecessary. There are MIDI files for most of the bass and music loops, plus a collection of solid bass, synth, chord, effects and drum one-shots. The chords are especially tasty, so more shapes would’ve been even better.
