Cartography sees ModeAudio explore downtempo electronica, with 20 construction kits containing 199 loops and 110 MIDI files. There are also 79 tail samples that bring the loops to a smooth conclusion, plus 144 saturated lo-fi drum hits. If you opt for the Ableton format pack, you also get 20 project files and a handful of Racks. With the Reason variant, you get additional Kong and Dr Octo Rex patches.

There’s a heavy Boards of Canada influence here, which is nailed in the characterful, nostalgic and woozy pads and synth loops. Elsewhere, there are chunky drums containing layered drum machine and found-sound hits, analogue and live bass loops, and some processed and slightly scratchy sounding guitar loops. Not all the loops are winners but when you combine two or three from the same kit they interlock beautifully.
