We always recommend buying the best monitors you can afford; however, it’s imperative to set them up properly to maximise performance. The main culprit of good monitors performing badly is poor placement. Simply plonking your monitors on a desk or shelf will not bring out their best. The ISO-Puck mini is designed for nearfield and midfield monitors, providing effective isolation from unwanted vibrations.
My own Rogers LS3/5a nearfields usually sit on heavy, concrete-filled stands, yet the addition of the ISO-Pucks improves focus and intelligibility. Placing the monitors directly onto my wooden desk all but ruined the sound, making them slow, diffuse and destroying bass performance completely.
