Learn how to go modular with Ableton Live’s Max For Live modulator devices
Turn your Live project into a modular environment with these five useful tools.
Max For Live is an incredibly useful feature for Ableton Live. As well as allowing users to create and share their plug-ins, Ableton has included its own Max For Live devices in its DAW. The five devices included are perfect tools for turning Live into a modular environment, allowing you to modulate parameters on multiple channels, such as reverb send amounts, volume, and parameters within plug-ins loaded onto the channel.
In this video, Liam O’Mullane gives you an overview of the various Max For Live modulation devices. You’ll learn how Envelope Follower, LFO, Shaper, LFO MIDI and Envelope MIDI can all be used to alter parameters within your Ableton Live project, and how to map each modulator to a parameter. Liam also guides you through latency settings to ensure that there is no delay between the Max For Live modulators and the rest of your project.
