Point Blank Tutorial: How to incorporate instruments into your live DJ set
American DJ and electronic producer GRiZ shows us the ropes.
Point Blank has hosted DJ and electronic producer GRiZ for a tutorial on how to fit live instrumentation into DJ sets. The artist, who’s collaborated with Snoop Dogg, also revealed his methods for processing live sounds and gave suggestions on how to jam along to beats on stage.
The video opens with, GRiZ – aka Grant Kwiecinski – giving an overview of his controller set up and Ableton Live workflow. Picking up his saxophone, he then demonstrates how you can blend different instruments with DJing, before sharing tips to mix in Live elements for a natural sound. GRiZ rounds off the tutorial by highlighting his favourite ambient plug-ins.
