Not all instruments and elements in your track will sound perfect. Frequency content among various instruments will clash and make for an unpleasant listening experience, such as when a kick drum and bass line clash and make your track sound ‘muddy’. Fortunately, a little bit of EQ can go a long way, allowing you to hone in on specific frequencies and attenuate them where necessary and clean up your mix.

In this FL Studio tips video, Max Venus gives you a brief overview of the various EQ devices in FL Studio. You’ll learn how to navigate Fruity Parametric EQ, Parametric EQ 2 and EQUO. Max shows you the parameters and functions of each EQ, and explains when you may want to use their features.
