Virtual instruments have come a long way in sounding realistic and professional, and Logic Pro X has some features to help push them to the very edge. Keyswitches allow you to manually change the playing style of the notes you play on an instrument. For example, playing the first half of a phrase in legato, and the second half in pizzicato. In this week’s Logic Pro Tips video, Jono Buchanan breaks down Logic’s Articulation Sets and the Articulation Mapper to take full control of your virtual instruments. In the video, he demonstrates this on Spitfire Audio’s Symphonic Strings, but the technique is applicable across a vast range of virtual instruments.
