Welcome back to Point Blank’s weekly spot here on MusicTech.net – this week we’re sharing our latest Friday Forum Live – our weekly live stream from the Point Blank Studios in London!

We decided to take a deep dive into the world of iOS music-making to dispel the myths and help you get started making music on your magical device. Watch the video and read below for more info and subscribe to our channel for more free videos: http://ow.ly/pa6vp

As the iPad has grown in popularity and power, it’s reached a point where its capable of running tasks and apps previously reserved for more powerful desktop machines and laptops. But with great power comes great responsibility and the iPad’s huge amount of music apps as well as its continuous updates mean it’s confusing what’s actually possible in the studio and on the stage and what’s still a pipedream for futuristic producers and musicians everywhere. At Point Blank we’re always on the lookout for new ways to get our students and community excited about making music so we decided to roundup some of our favourite apps and show you what’s possible when making music with the iPad.

In our latest Friday Forum Live broadcast last week, our course tutor Paul Crossman demonstrates the iPad’s power using Arturia’s Mini V, Akai iMPC, Korg iPolySix, GarageBand and Novation’s latest MiniKeys controller. We show how you can use these apps to create ideas and riffs, drum beats or even complete tracks using only the iPad. Check out the video here and make sure you subscribe to our channel for more free tutorials and live events.
