Point Blank Weekly Tutorial – Ableton Live 9 With Jonny Miller

Welcome back to Point Blank’s weekly spot here on MusicTech, where this week we have a great video featuring PB tutor Jonny Miller…

This week’s tutorial is a technological first for Point Blank, conducted via the power of Google’s video conferencing software – Google Hangouts. The excellent new plugin allows multiple video chats and is something that can be utilised within music production for a variety of tasks – collaborating on musical productions, for instance.

In this case, we tested the water by speaking to our expert tutor Jonny Miller live from his North London studio. Jonny then presented an excellent tutorial focusing on Ableton Live 9 and the advantages of using its new MIDI functions in relation to 1) Creating DJ mixes and 2) Programming drums.

As you’ll see, it’s a very informative tutorial, Jonny’s enthusiasm emanating through the screen(s) throughout and his advice is absolute gold dust for both budding producers and those who may have hit a wall with their creativity.
