The free pack, which is aimed at both aspiring and experienced hip-hop creators, features 102 instrument racks and 27 drum racks, 82 audio loops, 97 MIDI clips and 15 effects racks.

Development has been overseen by Sound Oracle, Mic Checkmate and composer Michele Darling and Ableton claims that Beat Tools can be used for anything from “warm bass and smooth electric pianos, to icy pads and sharp leads.”

When you get stuck into Beat Tools you’ll find the instrument and drum racks all feature macro controls mapped to the Push controller’s eight knobs, meaning instant control over the essential parameters. There are a host of loops and one-shots to choose, a range of instrument sounds and MIDI clips come with a ready-made rhythm that you can play along to or modify to your taste.

Beat Tools is free to Push or Live 9 Suite owners. If you don’t have either you can purchase it from the Ableton Store here for €49.
