Erica Synths makes its DIY Eurorack projects open source

Eurorack and DIY enthusiasts will be pleased to know that they can continue creating legacy Erica Synths modules, despite the company discontinuing the products.
Erica Synths has created Gerber files for PCB-made front panels and made a few changes in module design to omit custom and rare components. Some of the modules still require rare ICs, which are available on the Erica Synths website.
The full projects can be found on Github, with each folder containing the complete information and files to build a module. This includes the schematics, Gerber files for a front panel, PCBs, BOMs, component placement with values and designators and assembly manuals. “By making these projects open source”, the company says, “Erica Synths accepts third party use for personal, educational or commercial purposes”.
It’s worth noting, however, that Erica Synths will not be providing any support for these projects. Instead, it advises you head over to Muffwiggler forums for support on nuances, troubleshooting and module part availability or alternatives.
The open-source projects include Bassline, BBD delay/flanger, Dual VCA, Envelope, MIDI-CV, Mixer, Modulator, Output, Polivoks VCF, Swamp and VCO3.
In its ongoing collaboration with Riga Technical University, Erica Synths is working on educational DIY kits for simple and affordable Eurorack modules, with more information expected later this year.
