NAMM 2019 Video: Steinberg’s AXR4 adds high-end Thunderbolt to audio interfaces
With the AXR4, Steinberg sets a new standard in audio interfaces for studios, producers and professional musicians.
Steinberg has unveiled the AXR4 an audio interface that takes the German company into the Thunderbolt world.
At the heart of this new product is its high-speed data throughput made possible by a staggering I/O options. Its 28 in, 24 out design includes four combo inputs, eight TRS line inputs and eight TRS line outputs, two sets of eight-channel ADAT/S/PDIF and a future-proof digital I/O card slot. If that’s not enough, there are also MIDI I/O ports, twin headphone sockets with independent volume controls, and two Thunderbolt 2 ports which allow seamless computer connection as well as linking of up to three interfaces.
Other highlights that’ll perk the ears of professionals include 32-bit integer recording at up to 384 kHz, DSP-powered, latency-free monitoring, advanced SSPLL jitter suppression and a flexible 28×24 matrix mixer.
The AXR4 is compatible editing, mastering and production software that supports the Core Audio standard.
