Creating a short sketch in Ableton Live’s Clip View is easily done. You might even be able to make several Scenes of sketches. But how can you link these ideas together in an arrangement or performance environment? Scene Follow Actions is your friend here, allowing you to trigger different Scenes in a specific order – or in an order that even you can’t predict, for more experimental sequences.

In this Ableton Live Tutorial, Liam O’Mullane shows you how to use Scene Follow Actions to weave interesting and unique ideas. You’ll learn the various options in the Follow Action window, and how to use them to turn ideas into arrangements. You’ll learn how to deploy predictable and totally random behaviours.
