Point Blank return with another essential tutorial, this time exhibiting their best tips and tricks to keep a DJ mix tight when switching between BPM and genre.

DJ Ravine and Point Blank’s DJ Module Leader, Ben Bristow, teach you how to go from drum n bass to house, techno to hip-hop and more in an exciting fashion, using the built-in effects with club-standard Pioneer CDJs and DJM. Going beyond echoes and reverbs, the Point Blank duo also touch upon scratching, adjusting CDJ brake speed in classic turntable-style record stop, and isolating vocals to scratch with before the big drop.

This isn’t the first time Point Blank have shared their tips and tricks behind the decks, and it won’t be the last. As well as BPM and genre switching, previous videos have covered a plethora of topics such as DJ do’s and don’ts, first look tech overviews and more. If you’re a beginner looking to learn some quick and useful techniques, check out PB’s collaborative video series with Pioneer DJ.

Point Blank can help get your mixing skills up to scratch in person, with their state-of-the-art Pioneer DJ sponsored studios and equipment. You can look at their available courses at Point Blank Music School.
