Fortunately, Ableton Live has a few tools that can point you in the right direction, although some of them may not be immediately obvious.

In this Ableton Live Tutorial, Liam O’Mullane shows you how to find the root key of any audio file, from one-shot sounds to an entire track. Armed with this knowledge, you’ll be able to mix tracks together without any tonal conflict and cleanly integrate samples into your music. You’ll also learn when to use detune and how to deal with clashes.
